Suede is known for its completely napped texture; this lends suede shoes their special, velvety appearance. However, suede’s open pores attract dust and dirt. Suede brushes gently remove those offending particles. Suede shoes are known for their sturdiness. In the absence of regular brushing, though, they will become soiled and consequently damaged.
Not all brushes are appropriate for cleaning suede shoes; using a suede brush ensures that the suede will not be damaged. The Famaco premium suede brush features a Bubinga wood handle and a combination of brass and synthetic bristles. These synthetic bristles, along the edge of the brush, easily remove soiled areas, such as ones acquired while hiking; the brass bristles serve to brush away dust. After cleaning the shoes, it is important to apply a waterproofing agent. Once that is soaked in, use the suede brush for a second time: this will restore the suede’s distinctive napped look and texture.
In 1931, at home in his sixth-floor Parisian flat, the Frenchman Frédéric Pfirter created his first shoe polish: »cirage de luxe«. He continually refined the formula, and went on to found the Famaco enterprise, which his son Alain took over in 1974. Today, Famaco is one of France’s leading shoe care brands. Among other products, Famaco offers emulsions, repair cream and various types of brushes, such as the premium suede brush.
The Famaco premium suede brush is 18cm in length.
