Our collection of Goodyear-welted women’s boots

Women’s boots have been worn for centuries, and are an indispensable component of women’s footwear fashion. Our collection of Goodyear-welted women’s boots meets the highest aesthetic and functional standards.

Women’s boots—essential footwear

The historical roots of women’s boots extend back to antiquity, and are closely related to those of their male footwear counterparts. Over the course of their reciprocally influential history, men’s and women’s boots were subjected to myriad influences in terms of design, materials, and, last but not least, production method. That being said, women’s boots have been an essential part of classic fashion since the 17th century. They experienced a true renaissance in the 1890s, when women expressed increasing interest in sports previously reserved for men, such as croquet and badminton.

As a result skirt hemlines rose, or were replaced entirely by knickerbockers. Flat trotteurs and popular ankle boots were once more joined by women’s knee-high boots, which featured a comparatively higher-reaching shaft. Although in the 1920s classic low-rise shoes proved more popular than boots, the latter came back onto the fashion scene in the early 1960s, paired with the miniskirts that had become all the rage.

Originally created to protect the foot and leg, women’s boots serve a primarily aesthetic function today. As has always been the case, shoe lovers take the general term »boot« to mean shoes with a shaft that extends at least 5 to 10 centimetres above the ankle, often reaching the calf and occasionally extending over the knee. These days, the possibilities for classic women’s boots are endless in terms of shaft height, closure type, and overall design.

Goodyear welting ensures wearing comfort

Premium women’s boots are distinguished by their processed leather components, among other features. When it comes to our Goodyear-welted models, not only the uppers are made of premium leather. The lining, insole, outsole, and heel are also crafted from vegetable-tanned cowhide.

Our boot collection is made all the more exclusive with the addition of soles made by Joh. Rendenbach in Trier—widely known as the best leather soles in the world. Our winter boots in turn impress with a stabilizing rubber lug sole as well as warm lining made of soft and cuddly lambskin.

Moreover, our collection of Goodyear-welted women’s boots includes a wide range of models, colours, and leathers. From stylish boots to youthful Oxford- or Derby-style lace-up boots, classic knee-high boots to lined winter boots, our boots for women provide stylish looks for (virtually) every occasion, thanks to meticulous production, premium materials and refined designs.
