Details about Number 272

No. 272 is a modern women’s brogue boot in cognac, created using the supreme shoe production method. Thanks its winter-ready design, this full-brogue Derby boot is an excellent, sporty and elegant choice for the cold, wet times of year. Lambskin lining, a rubber lug sole and a zipper closure ensure the highest level of wearing comfort.

Stylish women’s boot in cognac

If you consider the cut of the shaft alone, No. 272 is a classic full-brogue Derby. A classic low-rise Derby shoe is distinguished by its open lacing; this model features seven pairs of eyelets. At nine centimetres above the ankle, though, the shaft on this model rises significantly higher than that of the classic Derby shoe. A further distinguishing feature: the lacing on this women’s brogue boot is purely decorative, as the ‘real’ closures is the zipper on the side. A pull tab at the back is a practical and aesthetically pleasing touch that makes No. 272 easy to put on and take off.

In addition to the lacing, the shoe is also decorated with ample perforation on the toe cap and along the edges of the shaft. This type of perforation originated with the cowherds of Scotland and Ireland. They started punching holes into their shoe uppers in the 18th century to make it easier for water that had gathered inside the shoes to drain out. These »brogs« went on to gain popularity among the English upper class, and today they remain beloved classics.

A beloved classic with a wintry twist

Lined with soft lambskin along the interior of the shaft and around the sole, these shoes put an end to cold, achy feet. At the same time, the stabilizing rubber lug sole ensures a firm grip on wet or frozen surfaces.

No. 272 is an excellent choice for a sporty, elegant outfit such as jeans paired with a jumper. While it is not the best choice for extremely formal occasions, this women’s brogue boot does cut a fine figure in the office.

General information about our women's shoe collection

Goodyear-Welted

Goodyear-Welted

The gold standard when it comes to shoe manufacturing. Goodyear welting is a painstaking process that involves stitching the shaft and outsole to a thin strip of leather. Shoes made this way are extremely stable, durable, breathable, and easy to repair.

Handcrafted

Handcrafted

Mass-produced shoes are glued together on assembly lines. All of our premium, full-leather shoes, on the other hand, are handcrafted to the finest standards of quality. You can see and feel the difference.

Full-Leather Shoes

Full-Leather Shoes

The high quality of these shoes is reflected in their high leather content. Their uppers, lining, insoles, and outsoles are made from the finest leather. They even have leather heels, made by painstakingly stacking thin layers of leather on top of one another.

Construction

Construction

These shoes consist of roughly 65 separate parts. They took about 210 steps to assemble. We rely upon premium materials and traditional production methods to ensure that our footwear is of the absolute highest quality.

Breathable

Breathable

This shoe boasts a high proportion of leather, and has been assembled without the use of adhesive bonding—both of these factors ensure proper air circulation and prevent moisture from penetrating the surface. Dry, well-ventilated feet are healthy feet.

The values we live by

Lots of brands are quick to conceal the production methods behind their products, as well as the origins of the materials they use. We, on the other hand, have nothing to hide. From the very beginning, our products have been »Made in the EU«, in the classic sense. As such, we treat both our fellow man and the natural environment in a way that’s ecologically sustainable and ethically responsible. Each step on our supply chain is entirely transparent for you to see—that’s a promise we’re happy to stand by.

Values
EU

Made in EU

While most of our peers in the shoe industry are still unable to guarantee shoes that are »made in the EU«, we’re able to prove that our shoes are just that. We use leather from France and Germany, manufacture our shoes in Spain, and run distribution and logistics in Germany—our shoes are 100% made in Europe.

Environmentally sustainable

Environmentally sustainable

For many companies, all that matters are the profits; they fail to take notice of the disastrous conditions under which hides are taken in Bangladesh, or shoes are manufactured in China. We turn instead to traditional European tanneries and Spanish craftsmanship, to the benefit of man and nature alike.

Pricing

Pricing

Our promise: since you’re purchasing directly from the manufacturer, you’re spared the typical high margins. You’re also spared the additional cost of paying for a brand name. Thanks to our advantageous wide reach and our low cost structure, we’re able to offer sensationally low prices.

Transparency

Transparency

From the provenance and treatment of the leather we use, to the conditions in our Spanish factory, to delivery with our logistics partner, we don’t leave any stone unturned. We provide copious, transparent information on every step in our supply chain.
