Cordovan Shoe Polish from Burgol
Cordovan is one of the highest quality types of leather and cordovan shoes are much-loved pieces of a fashionable wardrobe. Demand for the rare leather is however far higher than supply. The two small oval pieces from a horse’s back provide only enough leather for one single pair of shoes. Together with the long vegetable-tanning process and the fat and oil procedure required to make cordovan, it is no wonder the leather commands high prices. But with a pair of cordovan shoes, discerning shoe lovers know they are purchasing footwear with extraordinary characteristics: Creases for example are rare, because the leather is very flexible. After a short time the cordovan will be smoother and shows its famous and beautiful patina. This makes a simple emulsion for maintaining cordovan though, so please avoid any wax creams.
Instead, our classy cordovan shoe polish from Burgol is created specifically for the leather’s unique needs. It contains oils, waxes and natural colour pigments. These ingredients do not open the leather pores or soak them like turpentine-based shoe creams. Furthermore, it will not cause spots on the leather surface.
Shoe Polish for shell cordovan
Use a brush or a cotton rag for the application and spread the cordovan shoe polish evenly upon the upper. Remove any remaining polish from the shoe’s surface after 10 to 15 minutes and start with the final polishing.
Our cordovan shoe polish is available in a 50ml jar and in six different colours (colourless, black, light brown, brown, dark brown and Bordeaux-red). These colours are coordinated with the typical shell cordovan colours.
