Details about 570
Our extraordinary black patent shoe is at once a classic Derby. Crafted using a traditional polish method developed in the early 19th century, the shoe boasts an extra polyurethane layer which coats the typical grain characteristics of the welted calfskin. Although our No. 570 boasts a glass-like finish that catches the light, the flexibility and abrasion resistance during long hours of standing or walking are extremely high.
Our black patent shoe is equipped with a typical open four-hole closure on the top of the vamp, which makes it a cinch to slip into. The outsole provides shock absorption and durability, and protects the feet against heat and cold.
Take advantage of our optional additional features and select the classic shoes in the proper width, too.
Patent Shoes – the perfect black-tie footwear
The straight lines and the smooth leather upper radiate pure elegance. It is not surprising that high-ranking members of British military wore these patent shoes first, before they became socially acceptable for other social occasions.
Simply style our Derby shoes with plain suits, but especially a black or midnight blue dinner suit for formal events. The comfortable footbed and the leather sole provide first class comfort during the day and long into the night, too.
Please note: Our No. 570 is more comfortable for all men with a higher instep.
Classic shoes in different varieties
Men with wide forefeet and/or elevated insteps can also enjoy this elegant, classic shoe—it is now available in a wider option. It features a greater overall width, providing wider feet with plenty of room for comfort.
Derbies are considered the favourite men’s shoe in Europe. Smooth and undecorated, the black patent Derby is though a different beast to the classic Derby. With its high-gloss, shiny leather upper, produced by a thing layer of polyurethane – or “patent” – it is the perfect partner to a sleek, black tuxedo.

This shoe’s upper boasts premium, medium-soft and fully-dyed calfskin. The technical term for this kind of leather is "French calf". This type of leather is known for its flexibility, fine texture, and soft grain.
This model is also available in a special, wide version—perfect for those with wider-than-average feet. Made using a wider last, this design boasts a roomier structure and greater wearing comfort.
