With straight and unpretentious lines, a cap-toe cordovan is the right choice for several outfits. The term “cap-toe“ describes the additional cap at the toe that is shaped like the letter “D”. Our cordovan shoes are sleek and smooth classic men’s shoes, equipped with a six-hole lacing. Thanks to the closed lacing the shoe fits your feet perfectly, while the six eyelet tabs guarantee an easy entry.
Black Cordovan Shoes – unique footwear
Our cordovan shoes are steeped in classic shoemaking tradition, namely the Goodyear-welting process. Genuine shell cordovan consists of two small oval pieces from a horse’s back, which only provides enough for a single pair of shoes. Crafted in a painstaking process and vegetable tanned, cordovan leather is extremely durable, flexible and breathable.
Thanks to its special manufacture cordovan shoes will rarely show any creases and even small scratches can be easily removed. Furthermore our No. 456 is easy to care, meaning you can maintain its high shiny leather upper over years. The Rendenbach sole increases the water resistance and durability of these cordovan shoes.
Our cap-toe cordovan shoe is the ideal choice for a black suit. Versatile and elegant, and crafted in a traditional black colour, it will never lead you astray.
The most elegant men’s shoe in the world with a separate toecap (cap-toe). Equipped with the traditional six-hole lacing and the black leather upper it is a classic men’s dress shoe for any formal occasion.
The standard British last form. Subtly and elegantly narrows at the front of the shoe, without sharply rising from the ground. The average width at the ball of the foot provides a great fit for average feet.
The demand for this premium equine leather is much higher than the available supply. Fully-dyed and smooth as glass, shell cordovan becomes even more supple with age. It is virtually scuffproof and highly water-repellent. It can take up to six months to produce.
For the past 140 years, the traditional Rendenbach tannery has used oak bark tanning to produce leather soles—the process can take up to nine months. The resulting soles are prized worldwide for their durability and water repellency.
